Early Years and Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Julie Muscutt, our EYFS Lead, has been with us since January 2019. As well as daily short structured sessions, we encourage child-initiated learning and ensure continuous provision throughout the day, enabling children to learn through play both indoors and outdoors all through the year.

Phonics is taught through Sounds Write, a synthetic liguistics programme.

To help support your child at home with their phonics, please use click here to enrol on a free on-demand course which is designed to support parents to:

  • help your child take their first steps in reading and spelling;
  • understand how to help your child build, write and read simple cvc (consonant, vowel, consonant) words;
  • understand how to correct your child when they make a mistake in their reading or writing simple words;
  • have a basic understanding of how phonics works.
